God, Sex And Truth: Women’s rights groups demands Ram Gopal Varma’s arrest, to go on a hunger strike

It seems like the troubles for Ram Gopal Varma over his film God, Sex And Truth will not end early. The film has already created a lot of controversy.

Now, various Women’s rights groups in Visakhapatnam declared that they would go on a three-day hunger strike in protest against the director if he is not arrested.

The activists, under the banner of the Mahila Sanghala Ikya Vedika, said that they would launch a 48-hour hunger strike, if their demands were not met.

M Lakshmi of the Progressive Organisation of Women said, “We take exception to such derogatory remarks, as it hurts womanhood. Moreover, he does not know how to respect and speak to women.” She was further disappointed that no action had been taken against the director despite complaints being lodged with the District Collector in Visakhapatnam and the Police Commissioner.

The controversial filmmaker also got booked under sections 506 and 509 of Indian Penal Code for his alleged derogatory remarks about women’s rights activist P Mani.

Ever since Ram Gopal Varma, released the trailer of God, Sex and Truth, which he directed with American porn star Mia Malkova, many have protested the ‘nude’ scenes in the film. The film was shot with Malkova in Europe.
