PM Modi Applauds 5-Year-Old Girl’s Massive Effort To Clean Dal Lake In Kashmir

There was a time when Kashmir was called ‘Jannat’ on the planet. The beautiful destination attracts millions of tourist every year but many tourists also spread dirt and waste in the beautiful place. They leave the place when they are done seeing the destination but locals face problems because of it. While many young people are lazy to clean even their own home, this 50year-old is so passionate about cleaning that she is cleaning the world famous Dal Lake under her father’s guidance.

Jannat, a class KG student at Linton Hall Public School Srinagar, has begun the cleaning drive and is requesting everyone to use the dustbins instead of throwing waste in the Dal Lake.

“People should not litter Dal Lake and instead use dustbin for throwing waste,” she told a leading daily. “People, including locals and tourists, always throw different kind of wastages, including chips covers, biscuit covers, disposables and water bottles that affect the beauty of Dal Lake. I want people to use the dustbins that have been installed around the lake,” added Jannat.

Noticing work of this little girl, even the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded this little girl’s effort to clean the Dal Lake.

“Hearing this little girl will make your morning even better! Great passion towards Swachhata,” Prime Minister took to Twitter to share.

The Government of Kashmir has launched a massive mission to clean up the state’s famous Dal Lake and attract more tourists. It is run by the state’s Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) who aims to clear the lake of weeds like lily pads, creepers, algae, water plants and other waste material.

We hope that people become as passionate as little Jannat to make their country cleaner and greener.
