Mentor Together: Social Organization Working For Children And Girls Facing Individual Or Economic Risks!

There are many organizations working in India which are lesser known in India but are working tirelessly for people. One such organization is Mentor Together which helps children and young girls who are facing any kind of individual, family or economic risks.

Mentor Together was established in November 2009 to facilitate one-on-one mentoring relationships for disadvantaged young people. MT works with close to 3,000 young people across Bangalore, Mysore, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi. It runs programs for children who are at risk of dropping out of school. It also enhances the employability of youth.


Arundhuti Gupta, Founder Trustee, and CEO is a Commonwealth Scholar from the University of Manchester. She is a member of World Economic Forum, Global Agenda Council on India. She is also fellow at International Youth Foundation in 2011.

This program seeks to mentor students aged 13-15, studying in government schools and shelter homes, who may be exposed to  Individual risks like low self-esteem and low social skills,  Family risks like single parents and substance abuse and Economic risk like low family income.


The mentoring program offers a healthy relationship channel through which mentees can express themselves, receive life-skills training, understand their personal skills and aptitude and use this information to make life choices.

As in achievements, the organization was a finalist in Dasra Girl Power award, 2014. It was also National Finalist at Mahindra Spark the Rise in 2013. The organization is awarded Shared Planet award by Starbucks in 2012 and IBM Catalyst award in 2011. We wish them good luck in their future works.
